LAND RAIDER CRUSADER WIP

So here are some more WIP pictures of my Land Raider. Again these were taken on my phone and this time also in atrocious lighting so some of the highlights appear much more stark than in real life.

I still need to Tidy up some of the paint around the details and also need to finish painting the headlights and add paint chips as well as the sponsons and hatches.

That's all for now, feel free to drop me a comment and I'll see you soon!

  1. Looking good, your highlighting is very neat, great colour scheme too - like a darker version of my Relictors, Grey and Black. Great stuff.

  2. @Siph_Horridus: Thanks! I've always found it easier to line higlight Tanks than Infantry. You can get away with running the side of our brush along them rather than having to actually 'paint' them on.

  3. Nice looking LR you have there. Really intimidating in black. =)

Finding your blog was a fortuante turn of events for me as I plan to assemble my first vehicle soon. I was not too sure how to go about it as I intend to paint the interior as per your previous blog. Did you paint the interiors on the sprue or did you assemble the whole thing, undercoat it with the top open and then paint the interiors?

  4. Thanks for your comment FourEyedMonster.

I'd recomend dry fitting the model first (like I did with the Land Raider) if you have no experience with the kit just to make sure you know exactly what needs painting. I painted all of the interior pieces seperatly before gluing them all together to form the 'inner shell' and then built the rest of the kit around this. Then it was a matter of masking off the exposed parts of the interiors with tape and blu-tac so as I could undercoat and paint the rest of the model.

Good luck painting your vehicles! Feel free to drop me a message if you need anymore advice.

    1. Thanks for the advice. Being my first time, I am tempted to just glue the back door shut. =) Haven't decided for sure yet, it's cool pieces like your LR interior that make me wanna give 'interior painting' a go. Cheers.

  6. Thank you Marsekay. You might be able to see that I've already added a drybrush of brown to the lower tracks. Ive also painted on some scratch marks since I took these photos. I wont be adding any weathering powders or the like to this particular model though.
P.S just subscribded to your Blog!
